30 years and 8 seconds separated the first two in this year’s warm and windy Winter League counter. Mark Palmer chased Jon Barnes to the summit, round the hairpin at the north corner, and eventually overhauled the youngster on the gradual climb back to the Deri ridge before building up an eight second lead down to the finish. On the comeback trail, Katie Beecher finished 13th overall, three minutes ahead of second woman, the flying Finn Sari Nurmelo, and first F40 Niki Morgan. Other age category winners were Warren Miles, Steve Littlewood, Rob West, Rona Davies and Jane Bayliss.
