The Aberystwyth A.C. duo proved their liking for the 10 mile course, which included 3,100 feet of climbing, by dominating proceedings from very early on to pull away from the rest of the 100 strong field, with Andres Jones claiming a comfortable race victory in a time of 1hr 25.22mins with brother Felipe following in 1hr 27.01mins. Victory within the female category was claimed by Helen Fines of Vegan Runners in a time of 1hr 47.09mins, thus continuing her pattern of claiming category victory at the event on even years, having previously won the female race in both 2008 & 2010.

The glorious sunshine also attracted a total of nine athletes affiliated to Meirionnydd Running Club. Leading home the nine was the ever improving Glyn Griffin, on this occasion the Penrhyndeudraeth based athlete claiming an overall 10th placed finish in a time of 1hr 41.27mins. One place and 52 seconds behind was Mark Atherton, the Llan Ffestiniog based athlete claiming an 11th placed finish in a time of 1hr 42.19mins. The Dolgellau-based duo of Kevin Jones & Adam Preston followed in respective times of 1hr 50.11mins & 1hr 53.35mins with Tony Hodgson of Llanelltyd following, claiming age category victory within the Male Over-60 section in an excellent time of 2hrs 06.41mins. As ever with this event, the race organisers expressed their gratitude to the local landowners over whose land the race was run, as well as to the many volunteers who helped out on the day to make Ras Yr Aran such a popular race within the local fell running fraternity.
