In contrast to other parts of Wales (particularly where several hundred runners tried to race a train!)
the rain kept away from the Clwydians and we had perfect conditions for the 44 starters. Jez Brown and
Neil Parry had a real ding dong battle at the front of the field with Jez pulling clear on the final
climb to take it by a minute. Neil, being the fighter that he is kept pushing right to the bell. In
the V40's division southpaw Marco Calatafimi held a big early lead but Simon Roberts went the
distance to haul him in towards the end. Undisputed ladies champion Andrea Rowlands slugged
her way to victory to record her fastest time yet over this course with middle distance
runner Karrie Hawitt four minutes behind. Nigel Crompton threw in the towel early on
after a late night!
