The 'Sinclair Steel' Carneddau Race took place from Bethesda on Saturday 31st May. The weather was hot
and sunny and the summits were clear. The runners suffered in the heat but the conditions were well
appreciated by the marshals. Stan Charles of Clwydian was first to the summit of Carnedd Dafydd and
maintained his lead to Yr Elen. However, he twisted his ankle on the descent and was passed by Iain
Ridgway of Eryri who went on to win by a margin of nearly 5 minutes.
The race was won by Iain Ridgway of Eryri in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes and 45 seconds.
Stan Charles of Clwydian was 2nd in 1.46.28 and James McQueen of Eryri 3rd in 1.48.41.

The ladies race was won by Andrea Roberts of Eryri in 1.57.47. Hannah Toberman of Eryri
was 2nd in 2.14.02 and Annie Williams of Eryri (also 1st over 40) 3rd in 2.27.29. First
over 60 was Maggie Oliver of Eryri in 2.57.08.
