Tour of Torpantau     Sat 27th February          Results      Pics by Ed Dickson

Over the years, the weather for this race has either been bad or horrendous so it was a pleasant surprise for the 34 runners who decided to take the ‘Tour’ this year that conditions were dry and bright – albeit it remained icy underfoot making the descents ‘interesting’.

Matt Stott and Ake Fangereng, both from MDC led the from the start and finished with a substantial lead over the next runners. Ron Davies and Sasha Habgood, both from Mynydd Du seemed to have a close run battle with Rona outsprinting Sasha to finish two seconds ahead.
The good visibility made route finding bit less of a lottery and all competitors managed to navigate the course without too much trouble.

Thanks as always to ‘Del Boy’ Thornley who has marshalled at Cribyn every year since the race’s inception - and every year says ‘never again’. Thanks also to Steve Force and daughter Bethany for looking after Fan y Big.

This was the first year in the race’s history that the weather conditions could be described as pleasant.
