Showery weather and firm going faced a record field of 51 on the 11th running of this 5.6km/335m race that saw a long-standing women’s record well shattered.

Mynydd Du’s Helen Brown it was who lowered Angela Jones’ 9 year-old time by almost a minute. While Pont y Pwl’s Iwan Morton - a minute ahead of second-placer Sam Francis - found Jorge Thomas’s 11 year-old record too hard a nut to crack. Andy Wilton of San Domenico wasn’t far behind in third. The other podium women were MDC’s Amy Janes and Naomi Prosser (Under 23 winner).

Age group winners also included Coleman Corry, Patrick Wooddisse, Rona Davies, Gavin Fisher, Joc Dodd and Dai Smout.

Organiser’s grateful thanks to marshals Niki Morgan, Jen Danger, Rob Brown and Paul Dodd, finish recorders Vanessa Lawson, Lou Summers and Andy Blackburn, and course clearers/markers Joc and Paul Dodd.
