The weather remained calm for the inaugural running of the Ras Pedol Cwm Pennant. This 17 mile monster is destined to be a classic and rival the likes of Jura and Borrowdale for best long race in the UK status.

44 runners from all corners of England and Wales managed to finish the race. It was down to long race specialist - Simon Harding of Macclesfield AC who took the honours. Simon held off the early challenge of John Rowley to build a decent lead and managed to set a strong course record of 2 hours 41 minutes and 4 seconds. First Eryri finisher and 2nd overall was Matt Fortes, Matt moved steadily through the field, taking some good lines along the second half to finish in 2.48.30. Chris Near ran well to finish in 3rd and 1st male vet 40 in 2.51.48 with Martin Cliffe close behind in 2.52.11. Todmorden's Lauren Jeska - benefiting from a course recce on the previous weekend reigned supreme in the ladies to take the win and course record in 3.07.29 and finish in 10th overall. Gavin Williams of Dark Peak ensured the travelling party left Cwm Pennant with enough ale by taking the vet 50's in 3.11.31 and 13th overall, a mere minute ahead of next vet 50 Mark Liptrot of Lostock AC. Bowland's Alan Duncan ran excellently to take the vet 60's in 3.29.05 and 19th overall. Chester Tri's Lisa Grantham took 2nd lady on the day in 3.54.12, soon followed by Eryri's Ali Thomas, 3rd lady and 1st vet 40 in 3.55.21. Ellie Salisbury managed to take the ladies vet 50's by finishing in 4.37 in 40th overall.
