"It's not all about the winning"
A record 71 adults arrived at Moel y Gest on tuesday on a balmy evening following a hot day.
The epitome of the sport was underlined when Tring AC's John Millen and Keith "Tan" Williams came across Ashley
"Marathon Des Sables" Wager with a badly sprained ankle. Forfeiting their own chances, they proceeded to carry
Ashley off to a waiting vehicle before continuing on to arrive back at the finish to a round of applause and an
Easter egg each.
In the race, Math made it five Moel y Gest wins in successive years in 33:39 from Ifan Richards and John
Rowley, while John Parkinson broke the M40 record in 5th place, Steve P Jones taking the 50s in 8th.
First u/18 was Mabon Llyr (13th) and first M60 was Mike Blake (37th) and first 70th Emyr Davies (44th) -
